The author wrote this book based on his experiences as an English trainer since 2010 for many kinds of users such as students at school, teachers, college student of many universities, and officers in many government institutions in Central Java. Through the participants’ responses and feedback after joining the training, the author knew what materials which might be useful and suitable with their works and interests. And now, those selected materials are presented in this book such as introducing ourselves and someone else, daily activities, shopping, answering calls, welcoming and meeting guests, and being a public speaker.

In addition, this book is completed with some  miscellaneous information which is rarely known by most people in the world, interesting jokes, and specific cultures. Culture is provided in this book to enrich the learners’ knowledge in learning a language especially English. Culture is an important part in learning a language because it has its own culture that can make different from one to another. Shortly, as a language learner, we have to study and understand the cultures as well as the language itself or its society. Like a proverb: “when in Rome, do as the Romans do”, right?

Last but not least, the author would like to say thank you to everyone who have supported all the way in the process of making this book like Mas Najib, Mas Agung, Mas Aji as the author’s partners in Language Center of UNNES and also the colleagues at Universitas AKI. Without their supports, the author could not have had such a motivation to finish this book. To author’s parents, beloved wife, son and daughter which have been always supporting with everything to do all things well, I love you so much. 

Finally, the author feels that this book is imperfect yet so it still needs many suggestions. The author is really happy and openhearted to receive some suggestions in order to get better for this book. Nevertheless, the author hopes that this thin book can help you (as reader and learner) to learn how a language is used appropriately. Hope you really enjoy reading this book.
